Eric Benson is the Research & Development (R&D) Manager, leading the team responsible for electrochemistry fundamentals, electrodes, and cell performance excellence.
Eric has 15 years experience working on the electrochemical conversion of electrical energy to chemical energy.
Prior to AquaHydrex, Eric worked at a start-up focusing on developing long-life sealed alkaline secondary batteries for storing intermittent renewable energy. Eric also worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) studying the fundamental properties of electrodes under dynamic strain as well as covalent modification of MoS2 for hydrogen evolution.
Eric holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California San Diego, where he focused on the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO for synthetic fuel production.
